Addolorata Villa in Wheeling, Marian Village in Homer Glen Win Legacy Awards

Homewood, Ill. – Franciscan Communities named both Addolorata Villa in Wheeling, Ill. and Marian Village in Homer Glen, Ill. the 2007 Legacy Award winners for the categories of Financial Performance and Associate Satisfaction, respectively.

The Legacy Award is given to senior living communities within the Franciscan Communities family that exceed targets in areas such as resident and employee satisfaction, financial performance, quality of care and support for staff development.

These awards present Franciscan Communities the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of its communities in embracing the Franciscan values and mission and integrating them into the very essence of how senior services are delivered.

“Our associates have a commitment to creating and enhancing their senior living community,” said Steve Wuitschick, president and CEO for the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago Service Corporation (FSCSC). “During the judging for the Legacy Award, it became evident that our associates work well together to achieve the ultimate goal of ensuring that our residents experience the fullness of life.”

Other winners include: St. Mary of the Woods in Avon, Ohio and Mount Alverna Village in Parma, Ohio, both for quality of care/quality of life, followed by St. Mary Healthcare Center in Lafayette, Ind. for resident satisfaction and Villa de San Antonio in San Antonio for staff development.

Franciscan Communities, which is sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago and is a division of FSCSC, currently operates 17 senior living communities in Indiana, Kentucky, Texas, Ohio and Illinois. Franciscan Communities also provides home and community-based health services in Indiana and a shelter for women and their children who are survivors of domestic violence in Indiana.
